"PITTSBURGH — A small, female pot-bellied pig arrived at the Animal Rescue League last week after it was picked up running loose on the South Side slopes by the city's animal control. The friendly animal, named "Jellybean," is highly domesticated, as she seems housetrained, knows certain commands, including "sit" and "come," and is highly affectionate toward humans- especially those with food."She is small for her breed and very active," said Carol Whaley, ARL Foster Coordinator. Whaley, who bathed Jellybean early Monday, also described her as a "sweetheart" and "well behaved."Ideally, the Animal Rescue League would like to reunite "Jellybean" with her owner. If her owner does not reclaim her, the ARL will place Jellybean in a foster home while seeking a suitable permanent home for the pig."
